Stand.

Stand.

If you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything. Very powerful statement and it reads proud and true when it comes down to going after your dreams or any type of adventure. If YOU don’t believe in what you are capable of, then how is anyone else supposed to? You know one thing that I love about social media? The amount of self-motivation it expels. I mean granted it does get annoying to see people post pictures of EVERY single moment or event that arises in their lives. Yet on some mornings when it takes everything and THEN some to get me out of bed, I usually just roll over on to my side and pull up Facebook or Twitter. As soon I pull it up, my newsfeed is flooded with pictures of selfies, families, etc and oddly enough…I smile.

Human-TraffickingImage-2016There is nothing wrong at being proud of who you are and what you believe in or stand for. Never apologize for being yourself. I bring up this topic because as you know January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month. This particularly hits closeTraffick Stop Unofficial Poster to home because over the past year, I have been working on a TV pilot that addresses the issues and realizations of Human Trafficking. It is called ‘Traffick Stop’. I stand here and Continue reading

Keep the Focus.

Keep the Focus.

This point is very self-explanatory but it mainly means not losing sight of the bigger prize. I bring up the word “focus” a lot in this blog because as we get older, we tend to allow our focuses to drift to things that aren’t necessarily important or even worth our time.KeepCalm26

As artists, we have to make time for our crafts. It may not be as much or as soon as we would like for it to be but…every little bit matters. As a blogger and a full time performer/student I have to make time to just sit to myself and think. And when I finally do…the Continue reading

Passion.

Passion.

HowKeepCalm25 does one describe passion? Is it purely just a “desire”? Is it only something identified as a “want”? What is passion to you? And more importantly, what is your passion? Usually as individuals, people expect us to have clear clean cut answer to that, but honestly we are filled too much with multiple thoughts and urges for creativity to just simplify them down into one central trait. So don’t do it. Allow yourself to be engrossed in the many things that inspire you.

Collaboration.

Collaboration.

We all know the saying: two minds are greater than one. But what about more? More
minds, more creative spirits banding together with KeepCalm24their expertise to construct and form new works of art. And before you start to assume this is an agenda from the Miss America pageant, truly look back some of the most powerful and successful companies in history and around the world. Many success stories start with the means of multiple minds coming together. Yes there are times when it’s a sole contribution initially, but what was manifested after reaching out for support was colossal.

Collaboration for me is sharing my goals and passion for outreach and the Arts with others and fashioning new types of art and theater. I believe a huge part of life as an artist is getting to know and create for and within your community. And what better way to do that than to collaborate with other artists and people. Perhaps it could be creating a supplemental program cultural enrichment in the school community or an Arts mentorship advocacy platform…you never know.
